I took over as managing director of CCUK in 2017 after a purchase of the former Fibrwrap UK company, I also co-own a property investment company with the same venture capitalist investor.
I actually have very little to do with the day to day running of CCUK, the existing team are well established and do a marvellous job which makes my life so much easier.
I like to travel and spend most of my downtime relaxing and socialising with friends and family.”
Jamie now acts as Operations and Marketing Director and leads the team of 30 strong colleagues on all matters construction and contracting related.
“What makes my role with CCUK great now is that I get to deal with the old, current and new clients first and foremost, my background has always been contracting so I really enjoy dealing with likeminded people on a daily basis and creating new relationships and opportunities through my second interest of business marketing”.
Jamie is responsible for building a great team of people within our business, both colleagues and customers whilst promoting leadership and excellent customer service.
“In my downtime I like to spend time with friends and family, I frequent the gym regularly to de-stress and enjoy foreign holidays”.
I joined Fibrwrap Construction Europe in June 2010 as a trainee composite strengthening designer and was very quickly trained and positioned as the design manager for the UK operation. I am now responsible for composite strengthening design for the UK and European projects, along with CFRP design I also carry out technical sales presentations, research and development and oversee the management of the ISO for quality systems.
I have designed hundreds of FRP projects all over the UK but my greatest achievements are designing the first project for Fibrwrap UK (now CCUK) and also the two largest CFRP projects within the building industry in the UK to date.
Outside of work I like to spend time with my family, travel, play cricket and listen to music. I play cricket for a local club and I’m also currently learning to play guitar. My favourite holiday destination is Switzerland and I try to visit India at least once a year to see my family and friends.
I have over 30 year’s senior management expertise and my main attributes are having excellent inter-personnel skills, having an understanding and awareness of my clients (stakeholder) requirements as well as an ability to pro-actively manage and develop business relationships at all levels.
What makes my current role with CCUK that extra bit special, is the opportunity to use all my engineering expertise and knowledge, meeting and talking with clients, usually through technical WebEx webinars about how we use carbon fibre in construction and how we can help find the best most cost-effective strengthening solution on projects of all sizes and complexity. It is amazing, even now, how little is known by the construction industry of our services and how we can help with strengthening issues in most if not all business sectors.
