Project Details

Scope of Work:A former printing press and gin distillery Laser House situated near the Barbican in central London, has undergone a multi-million-pound makeover by one of our most prestigious clients.

The Challenge

This prestigious development required partial demolition of the existing structure and construction of extensions to the existing building, CCUK were part of the delivery team charged with providing the right, structural strengthening solution in key effected areas.

Working closely with the main contractor and coordinating with demolition activities CCUK carried out extensive concrete repairs and carbon fibre strengthening to 16 columns throughout the building.

The Solution

Column strengthening consisting of 2 layers of Fibrwrap carbon fibre strengthening system applied in the hoop direction for additional axial loading.

The Result
